GLASPER & HANCOCK EXCEPTIONAL KAMASI WASHINGTON CREATES BIG NOISE

Robert Glasper and band were exceptional! Late addition as early opener. Unfortunately cut off after half hour to scheduled time constraints. Next up Kamasi Washington, big sound big noise too loud. The sound was so obnoxious and loud as to remove it's musicality. The same thing over and over as to create a headache. We just suffered through it hoping it would end soon. I wish Glasper had had been slated as opener for Herbie Hancock. We couldn't wait for Kamasi's set to be over! Hancock's band was young, vibrant and very talented. Good energy great vibes! They played an incredible Watermelon Man! Herbie also played an old Headhunters tune Actual Proof and a tune called Chameleon. Hancock teased Butterfly, yet sadly did not play it. I also would have loved to have heard Tell Me A Bedtime Story! Maybe next time. I only left 4 stars instead of 5 because of Kamasi's noisy madness.

NOISE...LOUD NOISE

Superbly talented musicians in Kawami Washington set, but, together on that night in that venue, far too loud and discordant. Made unpleasant noise instead of seductive jazz. We left with headaches be for Herbie Hancock appeared. Very disappointing given that we are life-long Herbie Hancock fans.

GREAT MUSICIANS BUT HORRIBLE SOUND QUALITY

Very disappointing given how talented and accomplished these musicians are and you could hardly hear anything but load rumbling. I can’t believe anyone that knew anything about sound engineering was involved with setting up or testing the quality.
